From our offices in the heart of London, our dedicated team offers a wealth of experience in banking, lending, underwriting and international trade. We understand that it is sometimes difficult for SME companies to gain cash flow funding to initiate growth and expand their business. That’s why we work hard - day in, day out - to ensure our clients receive the very best financial trading support and advice to help their business grow.
Chief Executive Officer
Richard is the CEO and co-founder of TradeRiver and was responsible for the development of our funding process and proprietary funding platform in 2011.
Richard previously held the position of COO of a USD 400 million turnover trade finance company based in Bahrain; as well as 25 years’ experience in hotel operations with Starwood in London and five different locations in the Middle East as a general manager.
He has extensive knowledge and experience of the global credit insurance market and enjoys close relationships with the major insurers. Richard continues to be involved with every aspect of the business.

Martin joined as a Business Development/Relationship Director with extensive sales and customer service experience from a 16 year career in banking & finance.
Working within Supply Chain Finance for over 9 years Martin has excellent knowledge and understanding of how companies within the SME market can benefit from a unique and tailored approach to financing.
He truly believes that understanding a clients business needs is essential before recommending a suitable solution.
Senior Credit Officer
Simon has more than 30 years experience in the commercial and asset finance sector, mainly in credit and risk.
He was previously Head of Credit at Thincats / ESF Capital, where he was an Investment Committee member where he oversaw £350 million of lending to 160 borrowers.
Chief Financial Officer
Paula is ACA qualifed and is the CFO here at TradeRiver. She has over 25 years of experience in finance.
She trained at BDO, working both as a manager in their audit department and in their corporate finance team before moving on to become the Finance Director of a residential property company.
Paula went on to work in the charity housing sector, before moving to TradeRiver in 2014.
Max joined TradeRiver having graduated from Leeds University. As one of the first employees he has had exposure to all facets of the business and experienced much of the company’s growth and development.
Rising through the ranks from back office administrator to regional business development director where his current responsibilities include the management of client accounts and new client acquisitions.
Specialising in the SME marketplace, global payments, supplier and import funding.

Rory joins the team after working for several years in the operational division of a large media company.
Working with the Operations team here at TradeRiver, Rory provides daily support to current clients and plays a role in new client acquisition as well as managing ongoing client relationships.
